The 21st of November 2008 saw us hosting our first ever Peartree IT racenight at the Murrayfield Wanderers Club in Edinburgh. Many thanks to all the race goers who braved a cold night to come along and give us their support. We'd also like to thank our race sponsors and everyone who gave their support by buying horses in advance. As a result we raised a net total of £580, a record for a Peartree IT event!

Thanks to our racemaster Bill Merrilees, it was a fun filled and fast evening. The 'punters' were put through their paces with racing, stand-up bingo, a mini-quiz, and the evening was rounded off with an auction of horses for the final race. We were very grateful for an extremely generous crowd on the night! It was so much fun that we're already looking forward to hosting a further racenight later in 2009, so look out for the next event in the coming months.

We'd like to give specific thanks to all our race sponsors who were:

  • Greenend Motors (14-15 Sunnybank Terrace, Lower London Road, EH7 5TW, 0131 661 4825)

  • Boda Bar (229 Leith Walk, Edinburgh) and Sofi's Bar (65 Henderson Street, Edinburgh) - Visit their website at www.bodabar.com

  • Scott & Davie Plasterers and Cement Workers (1A Casselbank Street, Edinburgh, EH6 5HA, 0131 554 7338)

  • Boombarbers (13 Melville Place & 34 Deanhaugh Street, Edinburgh) - Visit their website at www.boombarbers.co.uk

  • www.wouldliketobe.com. The website helping you to figure out and become what you would like to be.

We'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the night by buying horses in advance, and for all the fun horse names that helped to make it a highly entertaining racing programme! And finally we'd like to thank Bill Merrilees for putting on an excellent night for us (contact details available on request) and the staff at the Murrayfield Wanderers Sports Club.

Hope to see you all at the next do and remember you can now also join the Peartree IT group on Facebook to keep up to date with future events.
