During 2010 we managed to raise over £5,000 with the help of our faithful Peartree IT supporters. This was done through a variety of events:
Lance Tabraham is in training to compete in the 2010 Great North Run, the biggest half-marathon event in the world. What's more, he's doing it to raise money for Peartree IT! You can lend your support by joining 'Lance's Great North Run support team' on Facebook (checkout the support vehicle!) and sponsoring him at http://www.justgiving.com/feed-the-tree. W're really excited that Lance has decided to raise money for Peartree through this event and wish him all the best for the big day. Go for it Lance!!
It seemed like it was about time for a roundup of our recent fundraising activities. We have had a very successful few months with three very different events between November 2009 and March this year. To start with we had an excellent meal (a sushi banquet in fact) at Bonsai Bar Bistro on West Richmond Street, Edinburgh (see the bonsai website at http://www.bonsaibarbistro.co.uk/). This was followed in February by another of our famous quiz nights at the Golf Tavern (http://www.golftavern.co.uk/) by the Meadows. And finally in March this year, David and Tim joined Keith, Cydz and Vicki to run in the ‘Mighty Deerstalker’ 5km and 10km runs – a ghastly experience which we hope to repeat in 2011! More of that in a minute but firstly let’s return to the scene at Bonsai...
Dave and Tim have embarked on a trip to Ghana to visit ICCES and see how the IT projects are coming along. This should be an exciting trip with lots of new and interesting things to discover.
You can read the blog for the trip and track progress on our projects forum page here:
